Open Auditions for Milford Area Players' production of "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder.

Summary: In his Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Thornton Wilder artfully manipulates time and place and relates the course of ordinary events in the small village of Grovers Corners, New Hampshire, to the universal concerns of all humankind.

Time and Place: Sunday, August 1 and Monday, August 2, 6:30-9pm at the Amato Center, 56 Mont Vernon St., Milford NH. No appointments required, but please arrive before 8:30pm.

Requirements:

• 1-2 minute dramatic (non-Shakespearian) monologue and readings from the script.

• Please be familiar with the play. All roles are non-paid.

• Singing experience preferred but not necessary.

• Requirements for Teenage roles: Readings from the script and familiarity with the play.

Roles:

Stage Manager: Male or Female, 30s – 60s

• Male roles:

Dr. Gibbs: 30s – 60s
Mr. Webb: 30s – 60s
George Gibbs: 20s – 30s
Simon Stimson: 30s – 60s
Howie Newsome/Sam Craig (double role): 20s – 40s
Constable Warren: 30s – 60s
Professor Willard/Joe Stoddard (double role): 30s – 60s
2 Dead Men: 20s – 60s. Will also double as "People of the Town" and church choir

2 Men (non-speaking roles): 20s – 60s, for "People of the Town" and church choir

• Female roles:

Mrs. Gibbs: 30s – 60s
Mrs. Webb: 30s – 60s
Emily Webb: 20s – 30s
Mrs. Soames: 30s – 60s
2 Dead Women: 20s – 60s. Will also double as "People of the Town" and church choir
2 Women (non-speaking roles): 20s – 60s, for "People of the Town" and church choir

• Teenage roles, male and female:

Joe Crowell: 12 – 18 years old
Wally Webb: 12 – 18 years old
Rebecca Gibbs: 12 – 18 years old
Three Baseball Players 14 – 18 years old
Si Crowell: 12 – 18 years old
