OUR BACKGROUND
The history of MAP is inseparable from the history of our community, and we are proud to share so many milestones with the town of Milford.
Milford Area Players (MAP) was formed in 2002 by a group of theater lovers intent on continuing the area's proud theater tradition following the dissolution of Milford, New Hampshire's regionally renowned American Stage Festival (ASF). MAP's initial productions were performed in the Milford Town Hall, and after contributing both financially and physically towards the restoration of the old ASF theatre, in 2004 MAP became the resident theatre company of the Amato Center for Performing Arts, the performing arts theater wing of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.

OUR HISTORY
2002
It all Begins
MAP is founded in 2002. While performing at the Milford Town Hall, we begin contributing financially to the restoration of the American Stage Festival theater, a regionally renowned repertory theater that had recently closed.
2004
We have a home!
In 2004, MAP becomes the resident theater company of the brand new Amato Center for the Performing Arts, a 400 seat theater sharing a building with the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley. This begins a decades-long partnership with the Club and the resident youth companies. We have been lucky enough to work with Riverbend Youth Company at the Amato for collaborative shows such as Miracle on 34th Street, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and more.

With more than 20 years of quality theater under our belts and a board and audiences that continue to grow, we've brought countless shows to life. From Shakespeare to Tennessee Williams, Dracula to Noises Off, we love bringing a mix of classic literature and fresh, modern performances to the stage.
